Pitching

Our pitching lessons will provide your child with the fundamentals they need to excel at any level. We teach pitching specific stretching and warm-ups they can continue to use as they progress. We break down the mechanics of the pitching motion down to allow players to understand the importance and intricacies of each movement. We use drills that allow them to work on small segments of the pitching motion that promote muscle memory and produce targeted strength gains to eliminate wasted movement and improve their over-all mechanics. These drills lead to improved accuracy, velocity, and stamina.

We will teach your child the difference between pitching and simply throwing the basball over the plate. This includes:

  • Various ways of gripping the baseball to add age-appropriate pitches to their repertoire.
  • Pitching theory
  • Mental preparedness
  • Locating pitches
We will also utilize video footage of each player to analyze their progress by documenting their motion from the start of lessons, compared to footage of it at the end. This will allow us to track their progress and allow them to visualize the breakdown of their motion on screen.

If you choose a lesson package of 8 lessons or more, your player will get:

  • A copy of the pitching footage we capture for training purposes.
  • Their own baseball attatched to a resistance band that we utilize during the lessons.
  • A hand towel that we use during the lessons for drill purposes.

Hitting

As with pitching, we place an importance on breaking down the mechanics of the swing. We will emphasize the importance of the fundamentals of a good baseball swing and implement mnemonic devices that will aid in the understanding and practice of these fundamentals. Our aim is to teach kids to hit for average, not for power. A fundamentally sound hitter that hits for average will also hit home runs. Making solid contact and hitting line drives, while minimizing strikeouts is the mark of a good hitter. Your child will learn:

  • The basics of a quick, comfortable, and level swing
  • To use the lower half of the body to provide the power in their swing
  • To keep the sweet spot of the bat in the strike zone for as long as possible
  • To hit the top-half of the baseball
  • How to eliminate wasted movement and other bad habits
We will also utilize video footage of each player to analyze their progress by documenting their swing from the start of lessons, compared to footage of it at the end. This will allow us to track their progress and allow them to visualize the breakdown of their swing on screen. If you choose a package of 8 lessons or more, we will provide a copy of the footage for you to keep.
